The Undersea Technology Innovation Consortium (UTIC) is accepting applications for the second annual UTIC Scholarship Program, which will provide $5,000 scholarships to students pursuing degrees in STEM fields related to undersea technology.

The scholarships are available to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in their third year or higher at a U.S. college or university in a STEM-related program. Students must be U.S. citizens.

“The future of the undersea defense industry depends on the education and development of future generations of our undersea tech workforce. UTIC is committed to encouraging the next generation of innovators to grow in their field and pursue educational and professional opportunities,” said UTIC CEO Molly Donohue Magee.

“Last year’s scholarship applicants demonstrated the potential and ambition of STEM students across the country to continue the United States’ strength as a leader in undersea defense. I look forward to considering a new round of applicants and providing the selected students with financial support in pursuit of their degree,” Magee added.

Six students received $5,000 scholarships each from 22 colleges and universities across the U.S. last year.

The application process for the 2024 scholarship program is open now through April 5, 2024.

Students can apply online.
