The Rhode Island Department of Public Health and the Attorney General’s Office will hold public meetings regarding the proposed sale of Roger Williams Medical Center and Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. The public is welcome to participate by signing up via this link. Written comments on the proposed transaction will be accepted until March 29, 2024.

According to a news release from the Rhode Island Department of Public Health and the Attorney General’s Office, the Centurion Foundation, a Georgia-based nonprofit company, is seeking to acquire the two hospitals, which are currently owned by Prospect Medical Holdings Inc. The acquisition is subject to the approval of RIDOH and the attorney general, which is required by law. The deadline for the attorney general and RIDOH to complete their application review is June 11, 2024.

In accordance with the standard process set forth by The Hospital Conversions Act, the attorney general and RIDOH released the application to the public on January 29, 2024, with redactions for confidential commercial information of the parties.
