The Middletown Police Department announced on Wednesday, March 27, that they have recovered the body of a missing juvenile.

At 11:17 am on Wednesday, March 27, Middletown Police Department said in a press release that their department, along with the Newport and Portsmouth Police Departments and U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force members, located the body of 17-year-old Owen Cameron, while searching the wooded area utilizing all-terrain vehicles around Newport State Airport.

Cameron, who had been missing since he left his job at Anthony’s Seafood in Middletown on March 23, was found partially submerged in a small body of water, according to Middletown Police.

The body was recovered by the Rhode Island State Medical Examiner’s Office, which will investigate the manner of death.

Middletown Police say that no foul play is suspected at this time.

The Middletown Police Department is still looking for a 17-year-old boy who was last seen leaving his job at Anthony’s Seafood in Middletown on the night of Saturday, March 23, 2024.

According to police, Owen Cameron was last seen leaving the seafood restaurant at around 7 p.m. He wore a navy blue Anthony’s Seafood shirt, dark pants, and a ball cap.

He’s 5’ 5” tall, 120 pounds, with a light complexion, hazel eyes, and strawberry/blond hair.

Police are asking anyone with information on Cameron’s whereabouts to call Middletown Police at 401-846-1144 or the Middletown Police Department Tip Line at 401-842-6516.
