Newport County is gearing up for a festive Easter Weekend (March 30 – 31, 2024) with various events and activities for locals and tourists alike.

Here’s a look at what venues and organizers are offering (some details are in their own words);

City of Newport Easter Egg Hunts

We’ve gotten word that the Easter Bunny will be visiting town again this year!

Newport Recreation will host their annual EASTER EGG HUNTS on SATURDAY, MARCH 30th, at Touro Park (for the littles Ages 2-6) and Freebody Park (Ages 7-10)!

ALL ARE WELCOME to join in, and as always, both events are FREE to attend! For more information, please contact the Newport Recreation Department at (401) 845-5800.

Middletown Easter Egg Hunt

The Town of Middletown’s Outreach Department will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Wyatt Road Soccer Complex. The event is held simultaneously for two groups: Walking to Pre-K and Grades K to 5. A concert featuring children’s musician and storyteller Keith Munslow will be held after the egg hunt. Easter Egg Hunt at Castle Hill Inn

The day before Easter Sunday, over 1,000 Easter eggs will be spread throughout The Lawn for Castle Hill Inn’s annual children’s Easter Egg Hunt! The eggs are filled with various candies and surprises, and a handful of special “golden” eggs will have extra prizes, including Newport Restaurant Group Gift Cards and one voucher for an overnight stay! Golden eggs will be hidden in the main Lawn area.  We will also have Little Kid Lane available to children 0-4 who would like to opt for a more relaxed egg hunting experience, this will be adjacent to the main Lawn area.

This event is recommended for children ages 0-12 and costs $30 per child. All proceeds go to FABNewport.

The event will officially begin at 11:00 am when the Easter Bunny cuts the “start line”. A sign-in/registration table will be open as early as 10:00am. Please note that guests are welcome to join us for LUNCH following the event (separate reservations for lunch are required), however, we are NOT serving Easter Brunch that afternoon.

Read-Along with the Easter Bunny

Coastal Queen welcomes Easter by featuring a children’s read-along with the Easter Bunny cruise! The Easter Bunny will also share some Easter egg treats with the kids. The one-hour cruise departs from Bowen’s Wharf, Newport, at 3:30 p.m. Check out the special family rate and reduced rates for children! Sunday, March 31

Easter Brunch at Newport Vineyards

Celebrate Easter with family and friends with a brunch buffet at Newport Vineyards & Taproot Brewing Co. Enjoy the buffet and chef-attended stations with brunch favorites crafted by Executive Chef Andy Teixeira and his team.

Reservations are available between 10 am and 3 pm. Then hop on outside for our egg hunt in the vines on the hour between 11 am and 2 pm. The Easter egg hunt is exclusive for the brunch guest children (included in the price) and is weather permitting.

Adults / guests 13+: $70
Kids 3-12: $25
Includes buffet, coffee, and juice.
Wine, beer, brunch cocktails & mocktails are available for additional purchase.

Reservations required. A credit card is required to hold the reservation, and payment is processed at the time of reservation. Reservations are a 1 hour and 30-minute time slot. Please note the 48-hour cancellation policy.

Easter Brunch at Hotel Viking

Join us for Easter Sunday Brunch in our Bellevue Ballroom, adjacent to the hotel restaurant. Guests will enjoy culinary delights from the carving stations and buffet, along with our signature raw bar. A full bar will be available for a la carte drinks.

Adults $89 | person++

Kids (6-12) $29 | person++

Easter at The Chanler

Join us in celebrating Easter at The Chanler. Enjoy the melodies of a live jazz duo while taking in the stunning views of Easton’s Bay. Our four-course prix fixe Easter menu is inspired by spring rejuvenation, with seasonal dishes including locally sourced Don Hopkins Lamb, Newport Lobster Benedict, and a tempting selection of confections from our Parisian-inspired confiserie.

Easter at The White Horse Tavern

Easter at Johnny’s

Let Johnny’s at The Atlantic Resort do all the work this Easter Sunday with their famous Easter Brunch Buffet. Seatings are between 10:30 am and 3 pm. The cost is $35 per person/$19 for children.

Giusto

For Easter this Sunday, March 31, Giusto will be open all day from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. offering brunch options in the morning and afternoon plus some additional special treats to celebrate the day. The patio will be open as well!
