The Aquidneck Island Climate Caucus will host a virtual forum on Sunday, March 24, to discuss the impacts of sea rise and flooding on the island.

The free event, which is open to the public, will take place on Zoom from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and will be pre-registered on a link here.

The forum will include Curt Spaulding, former Environmental Protection Agency Region 1 director, Paige Myatt, Aquidneck Island municipal resilience coordinator at the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank, and Rep. Tina Spears, D-Charlestown, New Shoreham, South Kingstown, Westerly, who sponsored the Act on Coasts Act (2024).

The event will focus on the urgent need to address sea rise, coastal flooding, and climate change mitigation and adaptation measures.

The Aquidneck Island Climate Caucus was formed by Reps. Terri Cortvriend and Lauren Carson to promote policies that address the changing climate.
