The Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns has hired two new staffers to help advocate for municipal governments across the state. David Bodah and Charles Donovan Jr. will lead the league’s legislative advocacy efforts.

Bodah, associate director, has more than 30 years of experience working for nonprofit organizations and has served in senior leadership roles at a number of other organizations. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, he is a registered lobbyist, a certified fundraiser, a certified assisted living residence administrator, and a certified association executive.

Donovan, a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, has served in a number of legislative and policy advocacy roles in both the public and private sectors. He has served on the Rhode Island House of Representatives, where he focused on municipal government, housing, corporations, and veterans’ affairs. Donovan is also a board member of the Rhode Island Academic Decathlon.

“I am proud to welcome David and CJ to the League,” said Ernest Almonte, executive director of the League. “They bring a wealth of expertise from their work in the non-profit sector and state and municipal government, which uniquely positions them to understand municipal needs and convey them to decision-makers.”
