The Rhode Island Department of State is reminding eligible voters of the approaching deadlines to register or disaffiliate in order to vote in the state’s presidential preference primary election on April 2, 2024.

Voters must register in person by March 3; they can register online or at their local board of canvassers’ office. The deadline to disaffiliate is also March 3; voters can disaffiliate online or by contacting their local board of canvassers’ office.

Mail ballot applications are also now available. The Rhode Island Department of State’s secretary of state office said in a news release Monday that voters can apply for a mail ballot online or via paper application. The deadline to request a mail ballot is 4 p.m. March 12.
