Newport Restaurant Group (NRG) will celebrate Valentine’s Day with decadent menu specials. 

At the Boat House Restaurant, located at 227 Schooner Drive in Tiverton, a selection of specials will be available from February 14th through the 18th, beginning with celebratory cocktails, Bogs & Kisses: gin, lime, simple syrup, champagne, cranberry and the Be Mine: dragonberry rum with lime, simple syrup, and Ramazotti.

Appetizer specials include Crab Bisque with chive, crab meat, and sherry crème fraiche and Tuna Crudo with avocado mousse, pickled ginger, wakame salad, sesame soy ponzu, wasabi tobiko, and nori crisps.  

Entree specials include Lobster & Scallop Strozzapreti Pasta with lobster cream, lemon zest, pea greens, marinated tomatoes, Grana Padano and a grilled 14 oz. Ribeye with potato spinach gratin, vidalia onion rings, and vincotto, with the option to make it surf & turf with 1/2 lb. King Crab legs, scallops, shrimp, or lobster, for an additional cost.

Dessert features include Baklava Crinkle Cake: phyllo crinkles, vanilla bean custard, pistachios, raspberries, local honey, and Chocolate Ganache Tart with Valrhona cocoa, brown butter shortbread crust, strawberry coulis, and whipped cream.

Hemenway’s Restaurant, located at 121 South Main Street in Providence, is offering a Dinner for Two to Go, February 14th through 17th. The cost is $135 per person; tax and gratuity are additional. 

The three-course meal begins with a choice of two first courses: Shrimp Cocktail, Rhode Island or New England Clam Chowder, a Caesar Salad, or Mixed Greens Salad, followed by a choice of two entrees: Lobster Thermidor: a one-and-a-quarter pound lobster stuffed with lobster and crab with sauce Diane; Short Rib Bourguignon with pearl onions and roasted carrots; Baked Stuffed Shrimp with a house stuffing of crab, vegetables, and Ritz crackers; and Lobster Mac & Cheese: a whole lobster, cavatappi pasta, Vermont white cheddar bechamel, and seasoned crumbs.  Family-style servings of Roasted Potatoes and Brussels Sprouts are also included.

The dessert will feature a Chocolate Torte for Two, and for an additional $40, guests may add a bottle of Bisol Jeio Prosecco, two Hemenway’s champagne flutes, and rose petals.

The following are available on February 14th only:

22 Bowen’s Wine Bar & Grill, located on Bowen’s Wharf in Newport, will feature two special starters in addition to its full menu: Karen Elizabeth Scallop Ceviche with blood orange coulis, shaved radish, olive, fennel, microgreens, and chive oil and a Crispy Duck Leg with pink Muscat grape chutney, pickled celery and shallot and celery leaf.  The evening’s entree specials will include a 10 oz. chili and coffee-encrusted Bone-In Filet with crispy Lyonnaise potatoes, sautéed haricots verts, and black truffle butter; and grilled whole Branzino with a local arugula salad, fingerling potatoes, and Meyer lemon beurre blanc.  Dessert will feature a Raspberry-White Chocolate Cheesecake.

Iron Works, located at 697 Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick, will offer specials in addition to its full menu, including Candy Cane Beet Carpaccio with house ricotta, navel orange, crispy sweet potato, red vein sorrel, brown butter, fresh herbs, citrus vinaigrette; pan-seared Sesame-crusted Scallops with Jonah crab fried rice, butter and chili-poached baby bok choy, and white miso-apricot beurre blanc; cast iron-seared Filet Mignon for Two with truffle parmesan risotto, maitake mushrooms, roasted asparagus, brown butter, aged balsamic reduction, and caramelized cipollini onions; and for dessert, Mousse Mélange: dark chocolate, white chocolate, and strawberry mousse, with caramelized chocolate hazelnut crumble.

Bar ‘Cino, located at 22 Washington Square in Newport, will offer its full menu as well as a Shaved Brussels Salad with maple-citrus vinaigrette, pine nut brittle, Grana Padano, dried cherries, and crispy prosciutto; pan-seared Scallops with Swiss chard, roasted winter squash, lemon-caper reduction, brown butter, and celery root puree; and Braised Lamb Shoulder with sweet potato gnocchi, cippolini onions, braising jus, walnuts, and Pecorino Toscano. For a sweet ending, guests can enjoy a S’mores Bar with graham crackers, chocolate, marshmallow, raspberry sauce, and shaved chocolate.

At The Mooring, located on Sayer’s Wharf in Newport, specials include Baklava Baked Brie for Two: phyllo-wrapped brie, crusted pistachio, poached cranberry, honey, sliced apples, and seeded crackers; a 12 oz. Grilled Rib Eye with new potato, romanesco, and uni butter; Ricotta-stuffed Occhi Bay Scallops with chamomile butter and chives; and for dessert, Biscotti & Affogato for Two: assorted biscotti, shortbread, chocolate strawberries, Madagascar bourbon vanilla gelato, and fresh brewed espresso. The Mooring’s full menu will also be available.

In addition to its full menu, La Vecina, located at 25 Washington Square in Newport, will feature Codfish Fritters with chipotle aioli; pan-seared Fluke with sauteed farro, carrots, poblanos, onions, salsa verde, and chili oil; and Passion Fruit-Dulce de Leche Cheesecake with toasted coconut brittle.
