A new partnership between South Florida Ventures and the Newport International Boat Show (NIBS) will result in the expansion of the historic event and enhanced value for exhibitors and attendees.

With a 53-year history deeply rooted in Newport, R.I., the NIBS has been a crucial part of the Northeast boating community. The show, which runs for two weeks each September, showcases more than 600 exhibitors, the largest in-water display in New England, and a wide range of marine accessories, products, and services.

South Florida Ventures, a rapidly growing company specializing in luxury lifestyle businesses, has acquired and launched specialized events and brands in Florida, including the Miami International Boat Show, Palm Beach International Boat Show, St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show, and the Suncoast Boat Show. The company’s focus is on creating platforms that elevate industry standards and provide customers with innovative, insights, and cutting-edge technologies.

The partnership between NIBS and South Florida Ventures is expected to enhance the experience for exhibitors and attendees at the NIBS event by leveraging the expertise of both organizations to ensure it remains the premier boat show in the Northeast. With a shared vision to create a truly world-class event, the collaboration is poised to accelerate the growth of the NIBS brand and reach new heights in 2024.

Lisa Knowles, Show Director for NIBS, said, “South Florida Ventures is the ideal partner to lead the Newport International Boat Show into its next evolution. This collaboration ensures that NIBS will maintain its renowned quality while gaining access to innovation, insights, and cutting-edge technologies, enriching the experience for exhibitors and attendees alike. We eagerly anticipate welcoming everyone to an even more remarkable 2024 show in September!”

Paul O’Reilly, CEO of Newport Restaurant Group, said, “For over 50 years, the Newport International Boat Show has been the pinnacle of boat shows in the Northeast. While it is bittersweet to bid farewell to NIBS, I am assured that it is in the most capable hands with the NIBS leadership team and South Florida Ventures at the helm. With the maritime sector experiencing a surge in demand post-pandemic, this marks the perfect time for the next chapter in the illustrious journey of the Newport International Boat Show. I am certain that Lisa and Andrew will maintain its great integrity and esteemed reputation for years to come.”

Andrew Doole, President of US Boat Shows, South Florida Ventures, said, “We are delighted to welcome NIBS into the South Florida Ventures family. NIBS is a standout show, reflecting the vibrancy of the boating community in the Northeast. This partnership signifies a true collaboration, driven by a shared dedication to customer satisfaction, community, and a mutual interest in the future growth of NIBS and its brand.”
