The Narragansett Bay Symphony Community Orchestra (NABSCO) will present their winter concert on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 3 p.m. at East Providence High School.

The concert will include a number of major pieces, including Scott Joplin’s “Treemonisha Overture,” Felix Mendelssohn’s ” Violin Concerto in E minor,” and Johannes Brahms’ “Symphony No. 4 in E minor.”

The concert will also feature guest violinist Sophia Szokolay, who has thrilled audiences throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Szokolay is based in Boston, where she has a busy schedule playing chamber and orchestra music, as well as being her mentor, Donald Weilerstein’s teaching assistant.

The closing piece of the concert will be “Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Op. 98,” by German composer Johannes Brahms. It is the last of his four symphonies, and has been considered one of the greatest symphonies in classical music.

The admission for the concert is “pay what you think is fair.” Guests are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to support the RI Community Food Bank.
