The Middletown Public Library is hosting a free program on Tuesday, February 22, 2024, that will teach attendees how to collect flowers, leaves, seeds, and other materials for scientific study and art projects.

The event, titled “Collecting Nature for Art and Science: Learn how to collect flowers, leaves, seeds, and more for scientific study and art projects, with a special focus on flower pressing,” will be led by Melissa Guillet, a Class of 2011 Master Gardener and Creative Director of 15 Minute Field Trips, a nonprofit that supports youth advocacy for the environment through art and nature activities.

The program is free, with registration recommended. It will take place in the meeting room at the Middletown Public Library, located at 700 West Main Road.
