Newport Live presents Reverend Robert B. Jones, Sr. at the Jamestown Arts Center on Saturday, February 10th at 7 pm to celebrate Blues and Black History Month through enchanting storytelling.
The evening will be filled with soul-stirring music and compelling narratives of Rev. Robert Jones Sr. He has been heralded by the Detroit Free Press as “perhaps the world’s most highly educated blues musician, an ordained minister, a longtime DJ, and a living encyclopedia of blues history.”
Rev. Jones is an ordained minister with over 20 years of pastoral service. He is also a professional musician, leading blues educator, and nationally-recognized storyteller with over four decades of experience.
Rev. Robert Jones’s message promotes the celebration of cultural diversity, emphasizing the significance of embracing our collective stories instead of just tolerating them. He hails from Detroit, Michigan, and has mesmerized audiences across the United States, Canada, and Europe with his award-winning skills in playing multiple instruments, including guitar, harmonica, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, and ukulele.
“We are happy to be renewing our partnership on shows with the Jamestown Arts Center. It has been a great experience for Newport Live and its fans, and we feel we bring something special to the friends of the Jamestown Arts Center, as well,” says Dick Lynn, Executive Director of Newport Live.
Tickets are available online at jamestownartcenter.org/events or newportlive.org for $35.
