Middletown Public Schools has begun a search for a new superintendent of schools as part of a collaboration with the New England School Development Council (NESDEC), the district announced.

As part of the search, the school committee is seeking feedback from parents and community members about what they are looking for in the next superintendent of schools, including the attributes, experience, and knowledge they should possess, as well as what tasks they believe the new superintendent should focus on immediately.

The survey is open to parents, community members, and educators and will remain open until 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 19. All comments will be considered anonymous, and will be used by the school committee to create a profile of the candidate they are seeking.

The feedback gathered from the survey will be presented to the school committee, and will be used to create a community needs assessment report, which will be used to inform the successful candidate profile.

Middletown Public Schools is grateful for the public’s input as part of this search process, and looks forward to hearing community members’ views.
