Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson took some time on Saturday to join Newport Mayor Xay Khamsyvoravong at Newport Police Department.
“It’s a busy time for the Newport Police, serving a huge influx of visitors (The Ocean Race, Seafood Festival, Salve Regina graduation) and our residents,” Mayor Xay shared on Instagram. “My friend @kenanthompson and I wanted to stop by during a shift change for a surprise visit to thank them for their work”.
Thompson has been filming Good Burger 2 in North Providence.
Newport Police Department shared that Kenan brought donuts and coffee.
“This morning at shift change the late watch and day watch Officers were surprised by a couple visitors! Mayor Xay Khamsyvoravong and actor/comedian Kenan Thompson stopped in with some coffee and donuts (yes we really do love coffee and donuts). Thompson is in Rhode Island during the filming of the new Good Burger movie and was nice enough to stop and hang out some of the guys and girls from NPD!”
