The Arts & Cultural Alliance of Newport County (ACA) is excited to announce the recipients of the 2019 Artist Awards. ACA provided two opportunities for artists and community organizations to apply for funding.
In September 2019, the recipients of the Artist Awards were ali kenner brodsky & co. and Out of the Box Studio & Gallery. The Artist Award will support the artists performing in ali kenner brodsky & co.’s MoMents of Nice premiere at the Jamestown Arts Center. Out of the Box Studio and Gallery will present “Visual and Performance Arts Collide” in January 2020. The funds from the Artist Award support fees and stipends for the artists working on this project.
In March 2019, the ACA awarded the Newport String Project and the Newport Children’s Theatre Artist Awards. The Newport String Project used funds to support the Newport String Quartet’s community meal series. The Newport Children’s Theatre’s award allowed them to pay orchestra musicians in their spring 2019 production of “A Little Night Music”.
The Arts & Cultural Alliance Artist Awards champion exciting and interesting arts activities and events presented in and for our community. It is the only grant offered specifically for artists of any discipline in the six towns of Newport County. In addition to the $500 award, recipients are also featured in the ACA Splash Newsletter.
To ensure that future Artist Awards can be offered, ACA asks that you consider donating to them by visiting http://www.newportarts.org/about/.
