The Newport Gulls are excited to announce the presentation of Irish Heritage Celebration Night. The event will take place at Cardines Field on Friday, July 5th as Newport Gulls take on the Sanford Mainers. The stadium’s gates and ticket booth open at 5:00 PM and the game’s first pitch will come at 6:35 PM.
The influence in which the Irish and Irish culture have on the City of Newport is undeniable. In order to recognize and celebrate this influence the Newport Gulls will have many Irish Organizations join them for a night of family fun at Cardines Field.
The Ancient Order of Hibernian Pipe and Drum Band are set to be the night’s Honor Guard and AOH Men’s Singers will perform the National Anthem. Students of the Clann Lir Academy of Irish Dance will be on hand to show off their talents and will be joined by members of the Newport Rugby Club and Providence Hurling Club on-field during the Pre-Game Ceremony, among other significant individuals from the Irish Community.
Additionally, the Night will feature a gate giveaway of Irish Lapel Pins courtesy of the Museum of Newport Irish History. Fans will also receive a green raffle ticket upon entry to the game that will automatically enter them into a raffle for a Trip to Ireland, courtesy of Brendan Vacations! If the Gulls win, fans will receive an additional raffle ticket for the grand prize.
Traditional Irish food will be available in the concession stand and Irish music will fill the air throughout the night. This is sure to be a memorable night in which the Newport Gulls hope to make an annual tradition. Please contact the Newport Gulls Front Office at 401-845-6832 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or ideas as to how the organization can honor such a great group of people.
