Nearly 675 guests gathered in their summer finery on the IYRS campus for the 22nd Annual IYRS Summer Gala title sponsored by State Street Corporation. The July 6 evening offered fine food and wine with a performance by American music legend James Taylor. The event set a new record for the school, raising funds in support of student scholarships and the IYRS educational experience.
Gala co-chairs Geer and Dooie Isdale, Posy and Charlie Dana, and Honorary Chair Anne Hamilton hosted a once-in-a-lifetime evening featuring exciting silent, live, and reverse auctions, in addition to the live performance. Chris Cannon, IYRS Board Chair, said, “It’s truly special to see supporters of IYRS’ unique hands-on education come together in such a powerful way. The generosity of the evening’s guests will change the lives of IYRS students.”
President Jay Coogan added, “With nearly 70% of our students requiring financial support from the school in order to attend, the Gala is absolutely critical to making our students’ educations a reality. I could not be more grateful for the generosity of our guests and supporters. James Taylor’s performance was the icing on the cake of a truly spectacular evening of philanthropy.”
The title sponsor of the Gala was State Street Corporation. Live auction items were generously donated by WIMCO Villas, New York Yacht Club American Magic, Audrain Automobile Museum, Victoria and Tommy Baker, Kimberly and Alessio Pucci of Casa Alina, Pamela and Andrew Constantine with Stoneacre Brasserie and Newport String Project, and Pam Rorke Levy and Matt Brooks. The evening’s Patron Level Sponsors were New York Yacht Club American Magic, and Anke and Jurgen Friedrich. Benefactor Level Sponsors were James Berwind and Kevin Clark, Ala and Ralph Isham, and Jonathan Nelson and Maya Stendhal.[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”3″ display=”basic_thumbnail”]
