Hurling, the national sport of Ireland, is coming to Aquidneck Island this week!

The Providence Hurling Club will be hosting an exhibition game at St. George’s this Saturday (June 29th) from 11 am to 1 pm.

The Providence Hurling Club, an amateur sports club, was established in 2015 and officially joined the Northeast-Boston GAA in 2016. They are a non-profit 501(c)(3) focused on fostering the sport of hurling in Rhode Island and the surrounding area.

Hurling requires a mix of skills found in baseball, lacrosse, and soccer among other sports.

“Looking to watch your favorite hurlers but also want to play in the sand this weekend? Come to the Newport 7’s on Saturday and have the best of both worlds! After the match at St. George’s, hit the shore or have a pint or two with us at Fastnet Pub.

Parking: Please use the Lower Road entrance and park in the swimming pool parking lot”.
