The twelfth annual NIMFest music series will begin Sunday, July 1 from 3:00-6:00pm and consecutive Sundays through August 26 at King Park, Wellington Avenue, Newport. Concerts are free and feature local or regional performers in a variety of musical styles. Brunch Belly food truck and lawn seating available, bring a chair or blanket.
The kickoff concert is Sunday, July 1 from 3-6pm with Irish folk duo, Ramblin’ Rhode and guest vocalist Carrigan Nelson; singer/songwriter/guitarist Grace Morrison; and acoustic folk music trio the Slackwater String Band.

The following performers are scheduled through the summer: July 8 original pop/rock with Radios Islands, Melissa Chaplin Family; July 15, Blues with John Hillman Band, Cee Cee & The Riders; July 22, Classic rock with Zoink Zulag & Galactic Shag, Island Rockers; July 29, Folk music with Otis Read Trio, Joyce Katzberg, The Gnomes; August 5, 50s-60s with Kane Brothers, bluegrass/country with Lizzie James & The Greystone Rail; August 12, Pop/ 50s-80s with Joe Colpitt, The Playboys; August 19, Soul/pop with Down City Band; August 26, Latin jazz with Julio Amaro, Reggae with The Ravers.
Presented by the City of Newport, the NIMFest series is made possible by a contribution from the Hamilton Family Foundation. There are no rain dates.
