The Wailers Thursday at Greenwich Odeum (East Greenwich)
The late Bob Marley’s band comes to East Greenwich tonight (Thursday). Led by bassist and Wailer’s founder Aston “Familyman” Barrett and original Wailer’s guitarists Junior Marvin and Donald Kinsey, the band brings all the Marley classics to their performances. BBQ and Blues All Weekend at India Point (Providence)
The inaugural India Point BBQ and Blues rolls out this weekend at the popular Providence park. Featured performers include RI Hall of Famers Roomful of Blues, Luther “Guitar Junior” Johnson, Alexis P Sutter Band, Slam Allen, TJay and the Tallboys, Elliot Johnson & the J Street Band, and the Kohaug Allstars. The weekend festival run from 11:00am to 7:00pm on Saturday and 11:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday. Oh, and there’s barbeque! Details on this new festival here.

Julie Rhodes, The Quahogs, Melissa Chaplin Saturday at Parlor (Newport)
Get ready to rock out Saturday night in Newport with a rock show headlined by Boston blues-rock sensation Julie Rhodes. Check out her video of the Etta James classic “I’d Rather Go Blind” below to see what we mean. RI rockers The Quahogs and Melissa Chaplin round out the bill. Music starts around 9PM – Details here.

Sharks Come Crusin’ Saturday at The Collaborative (Warren)
Saturday night, join Sharks Come Crusin’ for a record release party at The Collaborative in Warren. Their new album When I Get Home From Across the Sea, described as “an energetic mix of original and traditional sing-along songs.” Opening the evening with be duo of Kris and Tara Hansen, better known as Man and Wife. Downtown Sundown Saturday (Providence)
One of our favorite free outdoor concert events of the summer begins Saturday at the Roger Williams National Memorial (not the park.) Expertly curated by RI music performer/promoter John Fuzek, the series begins Saturday evening at 7PM with Ilana Katz Katz, Briana White and the Chrissy Stewart Duo. Quinn Sullivan Friday at The Met (Pawtucket)
18 year old guitar prodigy Quinn Sullivan comes to The Met in Pawtucket Saturday night. The New Bedford native has had quite a career already playing with the likes of Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton and appearing on the Oprah Winfrey show when he was 8. Two Tabers open – details here.
