Newport to Nashville Thursday at Newport Playhouse (Newport)
The Newport to Nashville music series continues Thursday at the Newport Playhouse and Cabaret with a singer-songwriter extravaganza featuring three of the area’s top artists. Bob Kendall, Allysen Callery and Bill Bartholomew (Silverteeth) will be performing “in the round” at one of Newport’s finest establishments. Stage Door live Thursday at the Zeiterion Theatre (New Bedford)
A unique concert series comes to New Bedford Thursday as Jazz vocalist Dori Rubbicco will be joined by the John Harrison Quintet at the Stage Door Live series at the Zeiterion Theater. Fans sit on stage for the show with singer-songwriter Rubbicco, who has been compared lyrically to Joni Mitchell, vocally to Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan. Hiroya Tsukamoto Saturday at Tiverton Library (Tiverton)
Internationally acclaimed guitarist and singer-songwriter Hiroya Tsukamoto performs eclectic, immersive, and mesmerizing music. Originally from Kyoto, Japan, and an expert of the fingerstyle guitar technique, he’ll be performing a free concert Saturday night at the Tiverton Library. Details here.
Rick Springfield Saturday at Twin River (Lincoln)
Award winning multi-million seller Rick Springfield arrives in town Saturday night for a show at the Twin River Events Center. Re-live those 80’s memories as you hear stories about “Jessie’s Girl,” “An Affair of the Heart,” and more. He’ll also likely play some tunes from his latest blues influenced release The Snake King. Leo Kottke Saturday at the Greenwich Odeum (East Greenwich)
12 string guitar genius Leo Kottke comes to the Greenwich Odeum Saturday night. The Grammy winning artist has built his work on traditional Delta Blues mixed with elements of folk, jazz and more. He’ll undoubtedly provide a real clinic for guitar fans. Details here.
Dylan Cover Show Sunday at Dusk (Providence)
Its that time of year again … we’re approaching the 77th birthday of the great one, Bob Dylan. The first of several local tribute shows happens Sunday at Dusk in Providence. Performers include Harvey Garbage with the Flowers, Capricorn Records, (Amelia Rose + Emily Furtado), Gunnns Elston, (Chuck Perry + pals), Steve Delmonico and John Farone among others.
