On April 19, 1998, the Lasky family opened the Helly Hansen Newport store on Thames Street in Newport.
The Lasky’s and the team at the Helly Hansen invite customers and the public to join them in celebrating this 20–year milestone from 5 pm to 8 pm on April 19th, 2018 at the store, located at 154 Thames Street.
“As the owner of Helly Hansen Newport for the past 20 years, and Brand Ambassador for 25 years, I am proud of what my teams have accomplished. I am thankful to the community, the business partnerships, the personal relationships, and of course of the amazing individuals I have had the honor of working with,” said Helly Hansen Newport store owner Jay Lasky. “The success of Helly Hansen Newport, which is the oldest HH licensed store in North America and the only authorized dealer in the region, comes from our core values and our strong mission. Our Mission is “To be the trusted solution for the best quality outdoor gear for your active lifestyle and your everyday needs; offering outstanding customer experiences to ensure your needs are met”. We are grateful to be in a position to give back to the community that has supported us over these years. We admire our friends at Child and Family Services, Potter League, The Boys and Girls Club, Martin Luther King center and Sailors for the Sea.”
Lasky continued, “I would be remiss if I did not recognize our partnerships with the Yachting Center, Gail, Nancy and the Boat Show team, Newport Shipyard and Veronica and Eli. I have been very fortunate over the years to work with some great talent. Too many to name, but my manager Meghan has been with me for 10 years, Dotty and Stephanie for five years and prior to that Sheila and Anne for five years each; I am very lucky.”
Known for providing quality Helly Hansen products, the store has had a long association with the Helly Hansen brand and looks forward to many successful years to come.
The upcoming Volvo Ocean Race stop-over will see seven teams arrive in Newport on approximately May 9-11.
