Portsmouth, RI – The town of Portsmouth announced on Friday afternoon that there will be a parking ban in effect from 4 am on Saturday, December 9th until 12 pm on Sunday, December 10th.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for all of Rhode Island and remains in effect from 4 am on Saturday until 7 am on Sunday. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches is expected.

As of 4 pm on Friday, the Rhode Island Broadcasters Association was reporting parking bans in 14 communities.

  • East Greenwich – East Greenwich Police: Parking Ban Tomorrow Morning; 8:00 AM until further notice
  • Lincoln – Lincoln Police: Parking Ban Saturday and Sunday; 12/9@ Noon until 12/10@ Noon
  • North Kingstown – North Kingstown Police: Parking Ban Saturday and Sunday; Start Sat-5PM; End Sun-12PM
  • North Providence – North Providence Police: Parking Ban Through Monday; Parking Ban 12am Sat-Mon 8am
  • North Smithfield – North Smithfield Police: Parking Ban Tomorrow; Midnight until further notice
  • Portsmouth – Portsmouth Police: Parking Ban Saturday and Sunday; 4am Saturday to 10am Sunday
  • Providence – Providence Emergency Management Agency: Parking Ban Sunday Morning; effective 2am to 6am, Dec 10.
  • Scituate – Scituate Police: Parking Ban Tomorrow Morning; 12/9/17 6am – 12/10/17 10am
  • Smithfield – Smithfield Public Works: Parking Ban Saturday and Sunday; Saturday Noon- Sunday Noon
  • Somerset, MA – Somerset Police: Parking Ban Tomorrow; 4AM Saturday until 7AM Sunday
