On Saturday, November 25, 2017, at about 3:40 p.m., Newport Police Officers responded to the Cliff Walk behind the area of 646 Bellevue Avenue for a report of 2 females spray painting the sea wall. When the responding officers arrived on scene, the suspects had left the area.
According to Newport Police Department, video images of the suspects were obtained and placed on the Newport Police Department’s Facebook page and with the assistance of the public, the suspects were identified.
On December 2, 2017, at 10:15 a.m., Newport Police Department states that 22-year-old Jocelyn Senecal of East Providence, RI and 22-year-old Jenna Senecal of East Providence, RI turned themselves into the Newport Police Station. They were both charged with 1 count of Graffiti (RI General Law §11-44-21.1) and 1 count of Conspiracy (RI General Law §11-1-6/M). These charges are misdemeanors.
They were processed and released and will appear in Newport District Court on December 13, 2017. No further information will be released at this time, according to Newport Police Department.
