At their October 29, 2017 annual congregational meeting, EFC Newport members cast a historic vote to expand their geographical boundaries in Newport County. This vote allows for the establishment of a new campus, EFC North, which will be located at 14 Potomac Avenue in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

“While many families travel from Tiverton, Little Compton, and Fall River, Massachusetts to attend the main EFC Newport church, this will serve as an additional venue for people closer to home, and hopefully service those who are seeking a church home in their community,” EFC Newport states.

“This unanimous vote comes after months of discerning how to best move forward in ministering to a wider area yet maintain the mission, vision and values of EFC Newport,” said Hoffman. “We are excited for these next steps in the creation of a vibrant EFC campus, and connecting on a deeper level in the northern part of Newport County. We are committed to building a community that is accessible to all people seeking to know more about Christianity, Jesus, and the Bible.”

EFC Newport states that services will be held on Saturday evening at EFC North, allowing additional flexibility to those people who aren’t able to attend a traditional Sunday morning service.

Located in the north end of Portsmouth, EFC North will be a family-focused, Gospel-centered, people-loving faith community. An outward facing church, EFC North’s mission is “seeing lives changed by following Jesus, loving people, and reaching our world”.

EFC Newport Senior Pastor Paul Hoffman will serve as lead pastor for both sites, with a strong teaching, worship and children’s ministry in place at both sites. A March 10, 2018 launch date has been set for EFC North services.
