3 communities in Rhode Island have now adopted a single-use plastic bag ban, 1 community will adopt a ban on April 18, 2018, and another community is considering a ban in 2018.

On the Wednesday, November 7th edition of What’sUpNewp Radio Edition on WADK 1540AM, we’ chatted all about single-use plastic bags and why 5 Rhode Island communities have made (or are making) the decision to ban the popular shopping accessory.

Dave McLaughlin of Clean Ocean Access has worked with each community to draft and develop the bans, Dave tells us what each community is doing, why they are doing it and what challenges there are after the bans for the consumer, business, and environment.
