The second annual Newport Holiday Stroll will partner this year with Lila Delman Real Estate and dozens of local businesses to present this free, city-wide community event to the City-by-the-Sea once again during the first two weekends of December.
The Stroll festivities will kick off on Friday, December 1 and continue through two consecutive weekends strongly promoting holiday shopping at local retail stores along with holiday cheer and family fun. Businesses city-wide are encouraged to decorate their storefronts with white lights and seasonal decor, offer in-store incentives like special promotions, free gift wrapping and refreshments, and to cross-promote the event through their own social media channels. WhatsUpNewp will again serve as a major partner in the event offering Stroll shop participants discounted advertising packages.
Retail partners for this year’s Stroll will once again have Kristen Coates, Style Newport, Bowen’s Wharf, Island Outfitters, Anchored In Pink, Coast to Country, Patagonia, Team One, Breakwater Surf, Blink Gallery and The UPS Store and welcome this year Newport Lamp & Shade, Kiel James Patrick, Newport Wine Cellar & Gourmet, Crosswynd Traders, Anchor Toffee and dozens of others throughout the city. Lila Delman Real Estate to offer complimentary gift wrapping for anyone attending the stroll on Sunday, December 3 & 10 from 12:00 – 4:00pm. Lila Delman’s Newport office is located at 3 Memorial Blvd. Complimentary parking for the Stroll has generously been donated by The Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina based on availability and valid throughout the Stroll December 1-3 and 8-10 with receipt of purchase from local shop. Dozens of restaurants throughout the city will offer discounts and offers to Stroll shoppers with proof of local shop purchase and can be found with a uniform poster that will be displayed in participating restaurant windows as well as on the event website.
Started by a group of retailers and WhatsUpNewp in 2016, the Newport Holiday Stroll is expanding this year to bring shoppers more holiday cheer and seasonal festivities. Highlights include the Bowen’s Wharf 47th Annual Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 2 beginning at 4:30pm, the reopening of the Newport Skating Center on Saturday, December 8 at 5:00pm, several performances by Newport Toy Theater on Sunday, December 3 and Sunday December 10 along with guided shopping tours throughout Newport.
