Newport Jazz Festival
Although Thanksgiving is the special day for people to get together to give thanks, Newport Festivals Foundation is grateful every day for the thousands of friends around the world who not only enjoy music, but also help to keep the legacies of the iconic Newport Jazz Festival® and Newport Folk Festival® alive.
In the spirit of giving, share the gift of music with a Flex ticket to the Newport Jazz Festival presented by Natixis Global Asset Management, which takes place August 3-5, 2018. These specially-discounted tickets are $59.00 and can be used for general admission to the concerts at Fort Adams State Park on FridaySaturday or Sunday.  With a Flex ticket, there is no need to decide now which day to attend, making these tickets a perfect gift for family and friends or a money-saving treat for yourself.  Regular adult general admission tickets will be $65.00 for Friday and $79.00 for Saturday and Sunday, so the Flex ticket offers a savings whichever day you use it.
“We’re pleased that so many people have taken advantage of Flex tickets, and have committed to attending the 2018 Newport Jazz Festival without knowing who will be performing,” said George Wein, Founder of the Newport Jazz and Folk Festivals and Chairman of the Board of Newport Festivals Foundation. “Our Festival friends have already purchased many more Flex tickets than last year; so if you want a good discount, we encourage you to get some now before they’re all gone.”
Another way to give the gift of music is to show your love on Giving Tuesday, a global day of charitable donations that is celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, November 28. To make a tax-deductible contribution to the non-profit Newport Festivals Foundation, which gives back to communities through instrument drives and school performances, please log on to https://www.newportfestivals.org/donate/.

To purchase Flex tickets, go to www.newportjazz.org/tickets and click on the BUY TICKETS link, which will take fans directly to the Festival page on Eventbrite, the Festival’s ticket service provider.
Flex tickets also can be purchased in person at the Newport Visitors Center while supplies last.  For hours and information, visit www.discovernewport.org
Other tickets for the Newport Jazz Festival®, including the Opening Night Concert at the International Tennis Hall of Fame, will go on sale at a later date.  All Newport Folk Festival® tickets go on sale Wednesday, November 29, at 10:00 am (EST) at www.newportfolk.org/tickets. Stay tuned for line-up announcements.
The Newport Festivals Foundation (www.newportfestivals.org) fosters the legacy and expands the impact of the Newport Jazz Festival (www.newportjazz.org)and Newport Folk Festival (www.newportfolk.org)through educational initiatives to engage students and introduce them to jazz and folk music. The Foundation’s goal is to offer opportunity, inspire through exposure and facilitate the collection of resources needed for musicians to celebrate and innovate. The focus on creating unique experiences to spark engagement is accomplished through a variety of initiatives, including instrument drives and performances at schools throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.
