Mary Ciavarini, age 95, of Newport, died Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Village House Nursing Home in Newport. Ms. Ciavarini was born on May 17, 1922, in Newport, RI, the daughter of the late August and the late Elvira (Briscoli) Ciavarini.

Mary was a Rogers High School graduate who went on to work as a bookkeeper for the Woolworth Company for over 40 years. She was an active volunteer for the Edward King House, Newport Hospital and St. Joseph’s Church. She was also a member of the Sons of Italy.

She is survived by her sister, Doris Boiani and her husband Leo of Newport, RI, and five nieces and nephews, Joseph A. Domingoes of Portsmouth, Susan Mascena of Bristol, RI, Leo Boiani, Jr. of Newport, Jeffrey Domingoes of Charlestown, and Jo-Ann Nannig of North Kingstown. She also leaves many great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Jennie Domingoes and her brother in law, Joseph Domingoes.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at 10:00am, at St. Joseph’s Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport, RI. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown.
