The Newport County Board of REALTORS® has named Annie Becker, Broker Associate at Lila Delman Real Estate in Newport, as NCBR 2017 REALTOR® of the Year.
Annie joined the Board as a new licensee in 2005, volunteering for the Programs Committee the following year. She went on to become an NCBR Director, serving two terms and answering the call to leadership as NCBR President-Elect in 2016 and President in 2017. She also served on the Finance Committee, Grievance Committee and on NCBR’s Strategic Planning Task Force. She has volunteered for Rebuilding Together Greater Newport for the past three years.
Annie is a Director for the Rhode Island Association of REALTORS® (RIAR) and also serves on RIAR’s Nominating Committee. She has attended the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Annual Conference and Expo and NAR’s Leadership Summit, as well as the NAR’s Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.
An avid sailor, Annie came to Newport because of her hobby, then settled in Newport permanently. Her dedication to her community and love for the land and sea are reflected in her volunteer work. She has served on the Merritt Neighborhood Fund Committee for the Aquidneck Island Land Trust since 2005. She has been a program volunteer for Clean Ocean Access since 2014 and a Director there since 2015. She is also an Ambassador for the Opera House Theatre and Performing Arts Center and serves on the Gala Committee for the Clagget Memorial Regatta.
Annie is a graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in Statistics and Finance. Initially operating in the non-profit sector, she has brought her accumulated business, network and marketing skills to her real estate career.
Annie is one of five nominees for 2017 Rhode Island State REALTOR® of the Year. The winner will be announced at the Rhode Island Association’s Annual Installation of Officers and Directors on October 18th.
