A two-year-old has to be transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital via Med Flight on Wednesday after falling out of a second-story apartment window in Newport, according to Newport Police Department.

On June 14th at 2:56 pm, Newport Police Department confirms that their officers along with the Newport Fire Department responded to a residence on John Chafee Boulevard for a report that a two-year-old child had fallen from a second-story apartment window.

According to Newport Police Department, Newport Fire Department treated the female child on the scene and Med Flight transported her to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence for non-life threatening injuries.

As of Thursday, the incident was under investigation by Newport Police Detectives. As per Newport Police Department policy, the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families were notified about the incident.

As of 2:45 pm on Thursday, the child was scheduled to be released from the hospital.
