On Friday, 30 June at 6 pm, Cluny families, alumni, friends, supporters and benefactors will gather for a mass of thanksgiving and reception on the grounds of the school.

Cluny School is hosting the event to celebrate 60 years of Catholic education in Newport and to commemorate the school’s closing.

Reverend Kris von Maluski, Pastor of St. Mary’s and St. Augustin churches, and Reverend Francis O’Loughlin, Pastor of the Church of The Church of Jesus Saviour, will offer mass in celebration of the 60-year mission of the school and its founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny.

The celebration will include the presentation of a proclamation on behalf of the City of Newport by the Mayor Henry F. Winthrop, and the reading of a letter from Bishop Thomas J. Tobin by Daniel J. Ferris, Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Providence.

The program will include remarks by Sr. Luke Parker, SJC, Provincial of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny, Province of USA and Canada, and distinguished alumni.
