Miss Rhode Island 2016 Shruti Nagarajan

The Miss Rhode Island Scholarship Organization has announced that they will be crowning its new Miss Rhode Island and Miss Rhode Island’s Outstanding Teen in Newport on May 28th.

The preliminary competition for Miss Rhode Island will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 27. Finals will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 28. Miss Rhode Island’s Outstanding Teen will be crowned during a separate competition on Sunday, May 28 at Noon.

All of the pageants will take place at the historic Casino Theater, which is located right next to the International Tennis Hall of Fame at 9 Freebody Street, Newport, RI.

The after-party will be held at La Forge Restaurant located at 186 Bellevue Ave, Newport, RI.

Tickets are available online and can be purchased at paypal.me/MRISP. Tickets to each pageant are $60; bundle tickets to both nights of the Miss Rhode Island competition are $110. After-party tickets are $20.

When ordering, organizers encourage those wishing to attend to specify your name and number of tickets in the “Note Line” as follows:

  • T- Teen Show
  • MP – Miss Prelims
  • MF – Miss Finals
  • MC – Miss Combo Ticket
  • AP- After Party Ticket

The Miss Rhode Island program is an official preliminary competition of the Miss America Scholarship Organization, which is the nation’s leading advocate for women’s education and the largest provider of scholarship assistance to young women in the United States, awarding millions of dollars annually in cash awards and in-kind tuition waivers.

Winners of the Miss Rhode Island and Miss Rhode Island’s Outstanding Teen pageants will go on to compete for national titles at Miss America in Atlantic City, NJ in September and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen in Orlando, FL in July!
