Party with Team Pour Judgement!: April 6

Join Hank Whitin and Team Pour Judgement for their first fundraiser on Thursday, April 6, 2017 for Bikes and Beers Across America, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM at OceanCliff Hotel and Resort. All are invited to join Team Pour Judgement for the sweet jams of Los Duderinos, cool auction items, delicious snacks and a cash bar. BBAM founder, Hank Whitin, will be there to chat about his upcoming adventure, and will be joined by Lauren Bardsley of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased here or at the door. The night’s proceeds will go toward funding the basic necessities of the team’s trek across the country.

Chef Scott and his team will prepare, serve and talk about a four course dinner inspired by Oaxacan Cuisine featuring Oaxacan Moles at Diego’s Bodega.  This dinner will also be paired with Cocktails that you will learn to prepare, pair with food and of course taste. SCI Speaker Series : “Flooding and Sea Rise on our Backyards: The next resiliency steps for Newport and Rhode Island.”: April 12

Head to the Seamen’s Church Institute on April 12th for a lecture on “Flooding and Sea Rise on our Backyards: The next resiliency steps for Newport and Rhode Island.” presented by Representative Lauren Carson. This event is part of SCI’s ongoing Monthly Speaker Series. It will take place at 7pm in the Mariners’ Lounge of the Seamen’s Church Institute, 18 Market Square, Newport. It will be open to the public without charge, though a suggested donation of $10 will help defray costs and fund the Institute’s outreach programs. 4th Annual Newport Daffodil Days Festival: April 15 – 23

Step into spring and join the doggie parade, see what’s behind themed storefront window displays and wear your daffiest hats. Enjoy the Daffy Bike Ride, Waltz of the Flowers, photo completion and more. Bowen’s and Bannister’s Wharves, Newport.

Newport Rhode Races: April 15

Join Newport Rhode Races in the City-by-the-Sea for this stunning marathon, half marathon and 5k. The Marathon will start at 7:30 AM Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Easton’s Beach in Newport, RI. The Half Marathon will start at 8:00 AM from the same location. The 5k will follow at 8:15 AM – all from the same beautiful seaside start.

Earth Day Outdoor Screening! “Seed: The Untold Story” 4/20!: April 20 – Join newportFILM for a special EARTH DAY screening in partnership with Newport Daffodil Days Festival at Ronald Lee Fleming’s historic house and gardens on Bellevue Avenue!

Earth Day Clean Up at Newport’s Ballard Park: April 22 – Friends of Ballard Park is celebrating Earth Day with a clean-up of Newport’s Only Nature Preserve. At 9 am volunteers are invited to give Ballard Park a spring cleaning. Volunteers will pick up litter, paint gates and signs and trim trails.

Spring Flower & Design Workshop: April 22

Hosted in partnership by Aquidneck Growers Market and Little State Flower Company, spend a glorious spring morning at Newport Vineyards with internationally known design artist and author, Jill Rizzo, of Studio Choo and local sustainable flower farm owner, Anna Jane Kochon, of Little State Flower Company for a dynamic flower design workshop with these two stars of the flower design firmament! Learn the value of using seasonal local flowers to our economy and environment, get growing tips from Anna Jane, and be entered in the drawing for great door prizes with your registration.
