There’s at least two storm systems that could bring snow to Aquidneck Island this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

The first chance of snow is between Thursday evening at 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday evening. the National Weather Service is forecasting that Newport will likely see 2″ of snow, but there is the potential to see up to 5″.

The greatest chance of snow is mainly after 11 p.m. on Thursday and before 11 a.m. on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

UPDATE: At 3:17 p.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for our area.

The second chance of snow this weekend is Saturday into early Sunday morning, the National Weather Service predicts several inches of snow is possible.

Increasing clouds, with a high near 35. West wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
Tonight
Snow, mainly after 2am. Low around 27. West wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Friday
Snow likely before 10am, then a slight chance of snow showers between 10am and 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. North wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. North wind around 9 mph.
Saturday
A chance of snow showers before 4pm, then a slight chance of snow showers after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30. North wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

A chance of snow, mainly before 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 28.
