Inside Christmas Coates

Kristen Coates’ holiday pop-up shop – aptly named Christmas Coates – just opened on Bowen’s Wharf, and shoppers are already in love. Coates said someone described the space as a “Madison Avenue florist meets a New Hampshire general store,” and the imagery is spot on. To step into the holiday-scented shop is to enter a winter wonderland of holly boughs and exquisite gift displays that feels both impeccable and quaint.

Coates said the shop – filled with arrangements of unique desirables like hand-crafted apothecaries, ornaments, confections, and art – is an extension of her love for discovering and curating new things. Almost all of the items she’s carefully selected for the store are $50 or less and are not available at her flagship store at 57 America’s Cup Ave. So, get there quick – Christmas Coates is only open until supplies lasts!

In addition to her selection of unique gift items, you’ll want to come by the store for fun holiday workshops and parties Coates has planned on her new Calendar of Events. There are still spots left for today’s Juicing Worksop with Brigid Rafferty at 4pm, and you won’t want to miss the Christmas Coates Opening Party on Friday, November 25th, coinciding with Bowen’s Wharf Block Party and Boat Parade.

So, what exactly is in the store? We stopped by this weekend before the doors opened to get a sneak peek. Here were a few of our favorite things:
