The Kind Spirits is launching an initiative here on Aquidneck Island called “The Community Action Project”.

“Recently there has been much dialogue on local hot-button social issues regarding our community but very few venues to execute solutions,” said Jason Kindness, President of The Kind Spirits.

The Kind Spirits is a local business created by Jason Kindness, Beverage Director of The Revolving Door. The Kind Spirits is focused on consulting, corporate team building events and mixology/spirits education. Kindness has also consulted on The Jane Pickens Theater & Event Center beverage program and appeared in Forbes, Town & Country and GQ Magazine as one of the nation’s most inspired bartenders.

“We have so many bright, positive, well-to-do members of our community that are just looking for some direction on how to help and this could be a vehicle to give back to the town that has given so much to us. This is also a fantastic opportunity to socialize with positive, like minded people as each project will be followed by a sponsored gathering involving cocktails and small bites,” Kindness added.

Cliff Walk

For their first community action project, The Kind Spirits will team up with Clean Ocean Access for a coastal cleanup along the Cliff Walk on Sunday, October 30th at 10 a.m.

“While the main directive will be geared towards helping our community in need, we thought it’d be a great way to initially get people together in the beautiful Cliff Walk setting and clean it up as we go into the winter season.,” Kindness said. The project aims to meet 6 times a year, each time tackling a different cause.

Those wishing to participate in this event should RSVP to the Facebook Event and meet at 40 Steps, there is plenty of parking along Narragansett Avenue. Event organizers will have gloves and trash bags. The after party location will soon be announced.

“The Community Action Project looks forward to hosting future events that will bring attention, awareness and help to other organizations and needs in our community,” Kindness said.

Kindness is actively seeking sponsors, as well as ideas for future projects. ” There are so many wonderful organizations and causes that I’m not aware of, so community participation and input on our direction would be paramount.”

The Kind Spirits will be working in conjunction with several local businesses including Drupal Connect and Councilman John Florez. The project is seeking local venues to donate space for events after each project. Please reach out to The Kind Spirits to host.
