1 – Island Moving Company Presents: Second Star To The Right | September 8 – 10

Island Moving Co., Newport’s contemporary ballet company, presents a new site specific production, in the tradition of its renowned Newport Nutcracker at Rosecliff and the Company’s legendary Dracula at Belcourt Castle. In partnership with Newport’s new Tall Ship, Oliver Hazard Perry, Artistic Director Miki Ohlsen presents Second Star to the Right: A Tale of Hook and Pan, danced on the docks at Fort Adams and the decks and rigging of Oliver Hazard Perry. 2 – Newport Fall Secret Garden Tour | September 9 – 11

The tour features about a dozen gorgeous gardens that are dotted On & Off Bellevue Avenue, Historic Hill and the Kay/Catherine neighborhoods. The tours run daily from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. MORE INFO

3 – New England Festival Of Hope | September 11

Former Red Sox World Champion Right Fielder Dwight Evans, four-time X Games gold medalist Kevin Robinson (K-Rob) and current New England Revolution forward Teal Bunbury will speak at the 3rd Annual New England Festival of Hope held at Easton’s Beach. More Info

4 – Newport International Polo Series | September 12th, 19th & 26th

The final month of the 2016 Newport International Polo Series in Portsmouth has sadly arrived! Catch  the New England Challenge (9/10), USA vs Morocco (9/17) and/or the Finals (9/24). All matches start at 4pm in September. More Info

5 – StarRide | September 11

The fifth annual family bike, walk or run event to benefit Star Kids Scholarship Program. There are several routes from which to choose all beginning on beautiful Ocean Drive, ranging from 3 to 45 miles. Participants can ride their bikes, walk or run. Food, fun and opening of the treasure boxes happens post ride. More Info

6 – Harvest Wine Run |  September 11

The scenic course is less than 4 miles long and consists of trails along the Aquidneck Land Trust’s Sakonnet Greenway Trail and in the Vineyard, amongst the grape varieties. Followed by the race will be a wine tasting and BBQ in the vineyard, with live music. Every runner will receive a souvenir glass, wine tasting and dinner. More Info

7 – TriNewport | September 11

Starting at Second Beach, enjoy as a participant or in a team relay a 1/4 mile ocean swim, 10.5 mile bike ride and 3.1 mile run on September 11th, 2016. More Info

8 – Newport International Boat Show | September 15 – 18

One of the largest in-water boat shows in the country, NIBS features a full range of powerboats and sailboats from both domestic and international manufacturers. MORE INFO

9 – Newport Wooden Boat Show | September 15 – 18

Boats of all kinds and from all over will be available for visits at Bowen’s Ferry Landing Marina. Builders and owners will join to explore the resurgence of wood-boat craftsmanship, with art exhibits and more on site. Meander the waterfront adjacent to the Newport International Boat Show. 10 – Wood, Sails, Dreams | September 17

Wood/Sails/Dreams explores the resurgence of wooden boats, the restoration of American maritime history, and the to be lessons learned from the ancient craft of traditional boat building. More Info

11 – Four Bridges Ride | September 18

The annual 4 Bridges Ride sponsored by the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority is a 26 mile charity ride that allows cyclists a unique opportunity to cross the Verrazzano, Pell, Sakonnet and Mt. Hope Bridges. The event will begin in North Kingstown and finish on the campus of Roger Williams University in Bristol. More Info

12 – Newport Sharkfest Swim | September 18

The 4th Annual Newport Sharkfest Swim will take place along the historic waterfront of Newport at 9 a.m. on Sunday, September 20th! The 1500 meter swim will start at the harbormaster’s dock in Perrotti Park in front of the Newport Marriott Hotel and finish on the beach at King Park. More Info
