Discover Newport has announced that Newport has been added to Arcadia’s North American Tour, the cruise ship is expected to arrive from New York on Tuesday morning.

“Please note the addition of a world-class cruise ship coming into Newport tomorrow(Tuesday, September 20th) morning. Arcadia, which once sailed as the largest custom-built vessel for the British market, will be tendering in thousands of passengers to enjoy all that our coastal city has to offer. Please welcome them, along with all of our cruising guests, with our signature Newport hospitality and staff accordingly,” Discover Newport shared with industry professionals on Monday afternoon.

Although Newport appears on the itinerary for the cruise ship today, her visit never appeared on Discover Newport’s 2016 Cruise Ship schedule.

MS Arcadia is a cruise ship in the P&O Cruises fleet, the North American Tour departed and will return to England.

The ship was built by Fincantieri at their shipyard in Marghera, Italy. At over 84,000 tonnes, Arcadia is the fourth largest of eight ships currently in service with P&O Cruises.

Arcadia is a cruise line exclusively for adults, and has a capacity of 1952 (regular), 2388 (maximum) and a crew of 976.
