Defense Innovation Days Begins Monday, Senator Reed and Under Secretary of Defense Frank Kendall are Keynote Speakers
Congressional and defense industry leaders will visit Newport, RI from August 29 through August 31 for a major event focusing on the future of innovation and technology in the defense arena.
Hosted by the Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance (SENEDIA), the 3rd Annual Defense Innovation Days’ event will bring policymakers and industry representatives together to discuss new trends within the defense arena and technologies being developed and deployed to military forces across the globe.
SENEDIA is a catalyst for thought leadership and technical innovation in undersea technology, cybersecurity and critical defense technologies and facilitates associated workforce development.
Included among the key speakers during the three day event are: Senator Jack Reed; Governor Gina Raimondo; Frank Kendall, Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics; Patrick Murphy, Undersecretary of the Army; Stephen Welby, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering; Thomas Atkin, Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Security and Global Security; and many others.
The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency Newport, 300 attendees are expected to attend and 25 companies will exhibit their leading-edge technology.
