Louise Anne (Silvestri) Miller, of Newport, RI, our amazing “mama” found peace with the Lord and joined her first born daughter Anne Kristine Miller Duenas on July 12, 2016 five days before her 90th birthday.

Louise was born on July 17, 1926 and raised in Newport, RI. She graduated in 1944 from Rogers High School and was the receipient of the Sons of Italy Award in Italian, a language she embraced from her loving parents, Antonio and Anna (Guglielno) Silvestri.

In 1949 she married Robert W. Miller and had four children. As a family they spent 10 years together; she then returned to Newport with her children. She began working and was highly recognized for her work ethic at various places including Raytheon, Prudence Island and the Naval War College where she supported and touched the hearts of many graduating officers. Louise retired from NWC as an Electives Program Coordinator in 1994.

During her retirement years she enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and traveling with her sister, Lucy. She had a tremendous love for all animals especially her two cats Sandy and Frisky. Feeding Red Cardinals from her deck and walking the family dogs brought her great joy. Louise loved the sun and being near the ocean, especially Newport Beach and walking on the Cliff Walk. She had a strong belief in the Lord and was a life-long parishioner at Saint Joseph’s Church in Newport.

She is survived by her son, John Robert Miller of Arizona and two daughters: MaryAnne Miller Allan and her husband Thomas and Catherine Miller Spero. Louise’s loving grandchildren also survive her: Carla Bueti and her husband Frank, Matthew and Michael Allan, Brian Jr., Andrew and Patrick Spero, Keri Miller Shoemaker and her husband Rex, Daniel Miller and his wife Amanda as well as many great grandchildren.
