I turned my focus on this June Monday to the 2016 election calendar and focused on the declaration of candidacy in some of our local and state offices.

Representative Lauren Carson called into the program around 12:30pm to announce for the first time that she would be running for re-election in November to continue representing District 75 in the House of Representatives.

Newport City Council Candidate Jamie Bova called into the program around 12:45pm to announce that she was running for City Councilor-At-Large and discussed some of the opportunities and challenges she sees moving forward for the City.

I kept my focus on some of the local announcements for local offices, and spent a  good amount of time speaking about Andy Lavaree’s announcement that he would be running and what the fall out has been.
