In their ongoing lineup and event announcements, Newport Folk Festival has announced that they will host events at Newport Blues Cafe and Jane Pickens Theatre.

The 2016 Newport Folk Festival will take place at Fort Adams State Park on July 22nd, 23rd and 24th.

On Thursday, July 21 Newport Folk Festival will host an Official Kickoff Party, “All Newport’s Eve” at Newport Blues Cafe, the event will be hosted by Langhorne Slim & The Law and will feature The Suffers and other special guests. Tickets go onsale June 2 at 10AM EST. This event is 21+.

On Friday, July 22nd Newport Folk festival will host an Official Aftershow Benefit, “Shovels and Rope: Busted Jukebox”, at the Jane Pickens Theater. Tickets go onsale Thursday June 2 at 10am EST.

On Saturday, July 23rd Newport Folk Festival will host an Official Aftershow Benefit, “Your Song Changed My Life”, the event will be hosted by Bob Boilen with surprise musical guests at the Jane Pickens Theater. Tickets go onsale June 2 at 10AM EST.

Ryan Belmore is the Owner and Publisher of What'sUpNewp. Although not the founder or original owner, Belmore has been with What'sUpNewp since its early beginnings in 2012.

Belmore was born in Providence, Rhode Island; grew up and graduated high school in Coventry, Rhode Island; and lived in Newport, Rhode Island for more than ten years. He currently serves as Vice President of the Board Of Directors for Fort Adams Trust and on the Board of Directors for Potter League For Animals.

He and his wife, Jen, as well as their two dogs (Aero and June), recently moved to Alexandria, Virginia. Belmore travels back and forth to Newport every couple of weeks to cover events, work on story ideas, to meet with What'sUpNewp's on-the-ground contributors, to visit friends, and to eat as much seafood as possible.
