Providence police have charged a Newport man in last week’s murder of a local man in the city’s West End, according to The Providence Journal.

Jose Medina, 42, was arrested Tuesday night on a warrant for the murder of 50-year-old Patrick F. Douglas, who was fatally stabbed at dawn on May 9 near Elmwood Avenue and Westfield Street, said Detective Maj. David Lapatin.
