newport comedy series

After 15 years of bringing stand-up comedy to Downtown Newport, Newport Comedy Series has announced that they will not host any shows in 2016.

The decision was announced on March 16th and Joe Rocco, Co-Founder and President of the series, has shared that he is hoping to find a new venue to host the series that will suit the needs of the series and all those involved.

From 2001 to 2014 the Newport Comedy Series was held at the Newport Yachting Center in Downtown Newport, the series had to find a new home for 2015 after the Newport Yachting Center was sold to the Peregrine Group.

The 2015 Newport Comedy Series, presented by the Coastal Financial Group, ran from July to November at the Hyatt Regency Newport on Goat Island and featured  Juston McKinney, Ray Harrington, Mike Donovan, Kathy Griffin, Bob Marley, Paul Poundstone, Lenny Clarke and Tony V.

A November 13th show that was supposed to feature Natasha Leggero was cancelled.
