Fort Adams Sail Newport

Sail Newport will join forces with the R.I. Department of Environmental Management and fellow non-profit organization Clean Ocean Access to hold a clean-up of the Fort Adams State Park shoreline and beach on Sunday, January 31 at 11:00 a.m.

Recent nor’easters have deposited a considerable amount of marine debris on the shores of the state park and the organizations are asking for community volunteers to help on Sunday.

This is the first event in a series of beach cleanups planned for the Marine Debris Solutions Lifestyle Project (MDSL) coordinated by Clean Ocean Access and supported by a grant from Newport’s 11th Hour Racing. Hot chocolate and snacks will be supplied for volunteers.

Individuals are asked to email Sail Newport is located at 60 Fort Adams Dr., Newport, RI. Sail Newport will provide a confirmation of community service/volunteerism to those who request a letter.
