The Bit Players always hit the stage with their hilarious improv comedy inspired by audience suggestions (much like “Whose Line is it Anyway“) full of larger than life characters, hysterical musical numbers, and the quickest wit you’ll ever see.

Wednesday, December 30th at 7pm

Join The Bit Players as they present a show for the whole family during school vacation. The show will be an hour and is BYOB for adults. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $10/adult, $5/child! Show will start at 7:00pm, doors will open at 6:30pm.

Thursday, December 31st at 7pm, 9pm & 11pm

Once again, The Bit Players will present their annual New Years Eve night of comedy at The Firehouse Theater when they host three shows in one night (7pm, 9pm, & 11pm).

7pm – The first show (7pm) will be Family Friendly this year so bring the kids, get out of the house and share a laugh with everyone.

9pm – The second show (9pm) is their most popular  New Years Eve show every year so get your tickets early.

11pm – And the third show (11pm) will include live improve comedy following by an opportunity to watch the ball drop in Times Square at midnight on their  video display.

PLUS there will be plenty of NYE favors and extras all night long provided by sponsors: Newport Storm Beer, What’s Up Newp, and Broadway Allstar.

Ryan Belmore is the Publisher of What'sUpNewp. 
Belmore has been involved with What’sUpNewp since shortly after its launch in 2012, proudly leading it to be named Best Local News Blog in Rhode Island by Rhode Island Monthly readers in 2018, 2019, and 2020 and an honorable mention in the Common Good Awards in 2021.

Born and raised in Rhode Island, Belmore graduated from Coventry High School and the Community College of Rhode Island. In addition to living in Newport for 10 years, he has lived in Portsmouth, Coventry, Providence, Smithfield, Burrillville, and East Greenwich.

Belmore currently serves as Vice President of the Board Of Directors for Fort Adams Trust and on the Board of Directors for Potter League For Animals. He previously served on the Board of Lucy's Hearth and the Arts & Cultural Alliance for Newport County.

In 2020, Belmore was named Member of the Year by LION and won the Arts & Cultural Alliance of Newport County's Dominque Award.
