We hear about them all the time, seems like there’s about a dozen “holidays” for just about every day of the year! The What’sUpNewp Crew has curated what holidays you should actually look forward celebrating this month, many of them give you the opportunity to indulge in something we all love and support local!
1 – Day Of The Dead – November 1
On November 1st, Diego’s will be hosting Brunch 9AM-1PM. Come in with your best Day of the Dead face paint to spin the wheel and win prizes! The Cerveza Modelo girls will be on sight from 11AM-Noon giving away beer and swag! Cure your hangover and day after Halloween blues! $6 Blood Mary’s & $5 Breakfast Taco Plates!

2 – National Sandwich Day – November 3rd
Sounds like a good day to head to your favorite deli or sandwich shop and show them some local support for this day. We suggest you head to Cru Cafe, The Shop, Fatulli’s Bakery & Deli, Scratch, Rosemary & Thyme or The Deli!
3 – National Candy Day – November 4th What’s your favorite candy? Head to Sea Side Sweets in Brick Market Place or your favorite local candy shop and stock up, chances are by now you’ve run out of your Halloween candy.
4 – National Doughnut Appreciation Day – November 5th Make your way to Ma’s Donuts or Cru Cafe to celebrate this delicious day or wait until Sunday to celebrate this day and head to Tallulah’s on Thames for Brunch and enjoy their delicious donuts!

5 – National Nachos Day – November 6th
There’s no question, the place to be for National Nachos Day is Brick Alley Pub or Diego’s!
6 – National Wine Tasting & Wine Tourism Day – November 7th Sounds like a great day to visit Newport Vineyards, Sakonnet Vineyards or Greenvale Vineyards!

9 – National Espresso Day – November 23rd
Live on extra caffeine and espresso? Today is your day! All of Newport’s favorite coffee shops serve up some mighty fine espresso; so head to Mokka Coffeehouse, Empire Coffee & Tea, The Coffee Grinder or Washington Square Coffee Roasters and have a high energy day!
10 – National Cake Day – November 26th
National Cake Day is also Thanksgiving, so of course this should be your dessert for choice after lots of turkey and football today! Make sure you order your cake ahead of time to bring to dinner from Cru Cafe, Mad Hatter Bakery, French Confection or Rosemary & Thyme.
11 – Small Business Saturday
November 28th
This day is all supporting the local stores, shops and small business owners in and around Newport. Forget the malls and support those who live, work and shop in your neighborhood. SHOP LOCAL!
12 – National French Toast Day – November 28th
The french toast at Gary’s Handy Lunch, Corner Cafe, Cru Cafe, Benjamin’s and Franklin Spa are all TO DIE FOR, you can’t go wrong on this day.
13 – National Chocolates Day – November 29th
