2 – Volunteer at Ballard Park

Wednesday, November 11th from 10:30am to 12:30pm

Friends of Ballard Park is partnering with Newport Daffodillion to plant 2,000 more daffodil bulbs in Ballard Park.   Volunteers are sought to help plant the bulbs on Wednesday, November 11th from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. More Info

3 – Paint & Sip Night

Wednesday, November 11th from 6pm – 8pm

Head on over to KJ’s Pub and have a great time painting, sipping and socializing at Paint & Pickle’s Paint Night from 6-8 p.m. with your first glass of wine or beer on them. They’ll provide all of the supplies you will need. Cost: $40.00

4 – Extensions Dance Company Concert

November 12 – 14 at Casino Theater

Drected by Assistant Professor Lindsay Guarino, the program will include an eclectic range of choreography from esteemed guest choreographers and notable alumni, including Joe Celej, Mike Esperanza, Spencer Gavin Hering, Kat Pantos, Emily Sulock (’12), Amanda Morton (’15) and Ciara Speller (’15). Additionally, Salve’s junior company, Extensions II, will perform for the first time in a piece by Island Moving Company’s Lauren Difede. Pieces range from modern to contemporary jazz. 8pm with a 2pm matinee on Saturday. More Info

Ryan Belmore is the Owner and Publisher of What'sUpNewp. 
Belmore has been involved with What’sUpNewp since shortly after its launch in 2012, proudly leading it to be named Best Local News Blog in Rhode Island by Rhode Island Monthly readers in 2018, 2019, and 2020 and an honorable mention in the Common Good Awards in 2021.

Born and raised in Rhode Island, Belmore graduated from Coventry High School and the Community College of Rhode Island. In addition to living in Newport for 10 years, he has lived in Portsmouth, Coventry, Providence, Smithfield, Burrillville, and East Greenwich.

Belmore currently serves as Vice President of the Board Of Directors for Fort Adams Trust and on the Board of Directors for Potter League For Animals. He previously served on the Board of Lucy's Hearth and the Arts & Cultural Alliance for Newport County.

Belmore is a member of Local Independent Online News (LION) Publishers, Society of Professional Journalists, and the North American Snowsports Journalists Association.

In 2020, Belmore was named Member of the Year by LION and won the Arts & Cultural Alliance of Newport County's Dominque Award.
