Irrational Man

โ€˜Irrational Manโ€˜, the latest film from Woody Allen, which was filmed throughout Newport and Rhode Island in 2014, will open at Jane Pickens Theater on August 7th.

Starring Jamie Blackley, Joaquin Phoenix, Parker Posey, and Emma Stone, Irrational Man tells the story of a tormented philosophy professor who finds a will to live when he commits an existential act

Some of Newportโ€™s most recognizable sights in this film includeย Salve Regina University, The Fastnet Pub, Franklin Spaย and the Jane Pickens Theater & Event Center.

Belmore visits Newport every couple of weeks to support the 12+ paid contributors What'sUpNewp has on the ground across Rhode Island, a place he called home for 39 years.

Belmore is a member of Local Independent Online News (LION) Publishers, Society of Professional Journalists, and the North American Snowsports Journalists Association.

In 2020, Belmore was named Member of the Year by LION and won the Arts & Cultural Alliance of Newport County's Dominqueย Award.
